Campbeltown Grammar School was founded in 1686. Our catchment area includes Campbeltown, the surrounding villages and communities of South Kintyre and the island of Gigha.

Our new school can accommodate 500 pupils and currently has 360 pupils.

We are proud of our school and of our pupils’ achievements. We have a committed staff, respectful pupils and strong support from our community. We enjoy good relationships between pupils, parents and staff. We also work closely with partner agencies in delivering the curriculum and supporting our pupils.

There is a wide range of curriculum-enhancing activities with many clubs and groups running throughout the school year. Pupils achieve well in Sport and Music in particular and have won several local and national awards.

Access

Access to the new school building is North facing towards the bus turning circle. There is a carpark at the rear of the school next to the 3G pitch. Visitors are required to walk to the front of the school and enter at the opposite end where they will be signed in at the main school office and issued with a visitor’s badge.

Disabled Access

There are disabled parking bays situated directly behind the school and visitors with mobility difficulties can obtain access at the rear entrance to the school,  There are two lifts at both ends of the school providing access to the upper floors. Pupils requiring access to the lift will be given a lift permit and key on request.

Communication with Parents/Carers

Good communications with parents and carers are very important to us. We welcome phone calls, letters or emails we will do our best to respond quickly.

We keep in touch through e-mails, texts (please make sure we have up to date contact details), Facebook,  Twitter and our website.  We share regular reports on pupils’ progress and the dates of reports are on the calendar on this website.

Information in Emergencies

We make every effort to keep Campbeltown Grammar School open, but on some occasions circumstances arise which lead to disruption. Schools may be affected, for example, by severe weather, temporary interruption of transport, power failures, or difficulties of fuel supply. In such cases we shall do all we can to let you know about the details of closure or re-opening. We shall keep you in touch through the website, by using text messages, emails, letters, notices in local shops and community centres, announcements on local radio.
