We investigated how adding spin created a curved flight path and learned about the Magnus effect and air resistance, linking this to how footballers curve the ball during a free kick. The children observed, tested and adapted their designs, using scientific vocabulary to explain what was happening. \ud83d\udc3eOur next step is to look for this learning in action during our Mini Class Cup match day \u2014 spotting when players use spin intentionally and explaining the science behind it.
