\"\"<\/a>Walking With Poets<\/strong> is a residency opportunity for four poets. The project involves setting up poetry residencies at the four Gardens of the Royal Botanic Garden one of which is at Benmore, Argyll.<\/p>\n

The Argyll poet, Sue Butler spent a morning with children from Patchwork Nursery, Dunoon. The children split up into two groups and spent some time walking around the garden and talking about what they could see, hear, smell and feel\u2026<\/p>\n

They then made their way to Puck\u2019s Hut where each group worked as a team to write a poem about their walk.<\/p>\n

Patchwork Teamwork Poem<\/strong><\/p>\n

T<\/strong>all, terrific, tremendous trees.
\nR<\/strong>edwood trees in a hilly, Scottish jungle.
\nE<\/strong>very trunk feels spongy and tickly and like a baked potato or an elephant.
\nE<\/strong>very tree makes me feel excited, small, hungry and like sleeping on the grass or the stars.<\/p>\n

Brilliant tree poem<\/strong><\/p>\n

T<\/strong>all trees in a garden that smells of strawberries and butter and chocolate spread.
\nR<\/strong>edwood trees in a garden full of seeds, leaves, castles, spider\u2019s webs, midges, water and a fishy fountain.
\nE<\/strong>very trunk feels like a monkey, stones, a crocodile or a fluffy shark.
\nE<\/strong>very tree makes me feel happy, excited and noisy and I want to run fast down the Avenue.<\/p>\n
