\"\"<\/a>Excited pupils from Primary 7 at Hermitage Primary School took part in their annual Technology Challenge on Tuesday 27th November. The challenge, for the 11 teams of 6 or 7, is to plan, design and construct a working model which moves forwards, backwards and has working lights. Each team\u2019s vehicle must have a strong purpose and corporate identity. The teams must also produce a booklet, a presentation and marketing material related to the purpose of their vehicle.
\nThe teams presented their models and supporting materials to a panel of prestigious judges. The judges were Mr Cleland Sneddon \u2013 Community Services Executive Director, Argyll & Bute Council, Mrs Andrea Young \u2013 Fund Manager, Old College Capital, The Investment Fund of the University of Edinburgh and Dr Strathearn, Department of Mechanical Engineering \u2013 University of Strathclyde.
\nThe judges commented on what a difficult job it was to choose a winner and how impressed they were by the efforts of all the children. Mr Sneddon in his summing up commented that the range of skills the children had shown were more akin to the Business World than a primary school. Mrs Jackson \u2013 Head Teacher commented that she was extremely proud of the children and delighted at the high standards achieved by all pupils in all aspects of the challenge. Well done to everyone including the hard working staff!
