\"\"<\/a>Southend Primary School have successfully renewed their Green Flag Award by environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful in recognition of their Eco-Schools journey.<\/p>\n

Part of the focus has been on beach and marine litter with workshops undertaken with the GRAB trust and developing their outdoor space as a resource for learning and recreation. They have also been improving their natural habitat for birds and insects. The children\u2019s health and wellbeing has also been a major focus with the installation of a play\/climbing frame to provide exercise and role play whilst outside.

\nLocal businesses have played a part in achieving the green flag award including Wee Toon Environmental Solutions, Glen Scotia Distillery, the local Rotary Club to name but a few.

Derek Robertson, Chief Executive of Keep Scotland Beautiful, said: \u201cI would like to congratulate all the pupils, staff and parents at Southend Primary School for achieving the Green Flag Award. For a small school they have made a big environmental impact. They are to be warmly commended for their promotion of Fairtrade and their generous support of worthwhile charities like Mary\u2019s Meals.\u201d<\/p>\n
