\"st-josephs-cherry-tree-001\"<\/a>St Joseph’s was delighted to see the newly decorated memorial tree for former pupil Bridget Sharkey this week. Staff had wanted to prune the tree to keep it looking its best in Bridget’s memory and so approached John Kennedy, a parent of the school and expert gardener for his help. As with many of St. Joseph’s parents, John was delighted to assist and indeed came up with the idea of creating a beautiful border round the tree to focus attention.

\"st-josephs-cherry-tree-002\"<\/a>The result was outstanding and the whole school community commented on how appropriate and thoughtful it was of one St. Joseph’s parent giving his time and energy to keep the memory of another St. Joseph’s child alive. The children were delighted and gave Mr Kennedy the ‘Thumbs Up’ for his excellent work.

Head Teacher, Michelle Collins, spoke with Bridget’s mum and invited her to come along to school to see the newly decorated tree – something Bridget’s mum was delighted to hear about and will definitely take the time to do in the near future.
