\"\"<\/a>On the 17th June, Dunoon Grammar School learning centre pupils, teaching and support staff walked up The Camel\u2019s Hump to raise money for CLASP\/Cornerstone. Parent, Frances Halligan, is walking to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa in September of this year and this learning centre sponsored walk was to support her huge fundraising efforts to help CLASP\/Cornerstone provide a youth club service for young people with additional learning needs.
\nLearning centre pupils split into two groups; the first group started their walk from Ardnadam in Sandbank and followed The Heritage Trail to climb to the summit of The Camel\u2019s Hump. They then continued to meet group two, who had started at Alexander Street and approached from a different direction.
\nBoth groups then shared a picnic in the sunshine. All pupils who completed the walk said that they had really enjoyed the sense of achievement when they reached the top, as well as the views and that they felt very proud of themselves. Staff, who walked with them, were all very impressed with the excellent teamwork as pupils helped each other across difficult parts of the track and looked out for each other.
\nSponsor money is still being collected and handed in but so far pupils and staff have managed to raise more than their target of \u00a3500.00 for Clasp\/ Cornerstone.
