\"\"<\/a>A clear blue sky, sunshine warming the air and a gentle breeze \u2013 the perfect conditions for an outdoor Samba Drumming Performance for the family and friends of Keills and Small Isles P.5-7 pupils. The rhythmic sound of surdo drums, agogo bells, tamborims and ganza shakers playing together was heard throughout the school grounds, probably most of Keills village and quite possibly Port Askaig!



Jenny England (Argyll and Bute music specialist) led two days of lessons prior to the performance, focussing on teaching Samba rhythms using a range of Brazilian instruments. The children had the opportunity to increase their listening and playing skills, and work collaboratively to create interesting and fun compositions. The audience appreciated the amount of effort and focus involved, after having \u2018a go\u2019 on the different instruments themselves! Keills and Small Isles would like to thank Jenny for giving us the opportunity to learn samba drumming and our audience for supporting us. Altogether it was a great afternoon – lively, fun and enjoyable. <\/p>\n
