Rosneath primary visits The Brooch of Lorn

A class from Rosneath Primary went to see the replica of the Brooch of Lorn in Helensburgh Library – absolutely magical. They were allowed to photograph it so the children were delighted to have their photo taken with a replica of ‘a little bit of history’. They are going to be looking at some Scottish battles in the future so this was very useful.

If you want to visit the Brooch of Lorn in your area, see the SAL article here Continue reading Rosneath primary visits The Brooch of Lorn

Rosneath Primary P5/6 class blog

Primary 5/6 at Rosneath Primary are delighted that their hard work this session has been recognised. Their blog (http://rosneathprimary56.primaryblogger.co.uk/) has been nominated for Class Blog of the Year in the Education Blog Awards 2012!

The initial aim of the blog was to share our learning with parents and help strengthen home-school partnerships, but it quickly developed into much more than that. Outstanding examples of our work are showcased on the blog and we take great pride in this. We have connected with other schools around the world through Quadblogging (http://quadblogging.net/)  and contributed to the World’s Biggest Blogging Project on 29th February 2012 (http://feb29th.net/). We enjoy taking part in the 100 Word Challenge and like to read other children’s work before giving them feedback on their writing (http://100wc.net/). Blogging has improved our ICT and literacy skills but most importantly, it is fun!

UP THE TITAN CRANE, CLYDEBANK

Rosneath Primary School visited the Titan Crane recently. We would highly recommend going. As you can see some of us did not look that keen to be going way up there but we did it! Can you imagine the size of some of those vessels that were lifted? The weather was against us that day – wet, freezing cold and windy – but we soldiered on. The guides were great and we had an interactive World War 2 workshop using the Smart board. This was linked to our Interdisciplinary Study of the Second World War with a particular focus on the Clydebank Blitz. Continue reading UP THE TITAN CRANE, CLYDEBANK
