Exploring Google Sketchup

In our ICT lesson today we began exploring a program called sketchup. You can download a copy of sketchup for use at home from here.

Here are some of the things we learned and created in our lesson today.

Chloe created a house. The trickiest part she thought was making the steps.

Chris thought it was really hard to make the doors and the windows. He managed with his partner in the end.

Iona thought it was hard to make the house but managed it in the end.

Rebecca thought it was a challenge to make the door look like it was open.

Rachael and Ashley explored making cylinders and sqaures.

David made a mansion with Liam’s help.

Ben used the colours to make a camouflage house with the same colours as the grass.

We enjoyed exploring this new program.

Scratch

Today we have been learning a bit about scratch. There is an excellent video which we watched before we started which tells you about scratch.

You can download the Scratch program from this website.

During our 15 minute explore session we learned how to:

Move a sprite.

Edit what a sprite looks like.

Make a sprite play a sound.

Record our own voice onto the sprite.

Use more than one sprite.

Make our sprite multi-coloured.

We learned how to make small programs.

We learned how to find and open scratch.

We learned how to make our characters move.
