Mobile Military Museum

We recently had a visit from Ian at the Mobile Military Museum.  Ian brought his own personal collection of war memerobalia to show us. This enhanced our WW2 learning and allowed us to get a hands on experience with artifacts from the Second World War. Take a look at us enjoying our Mobile Military Museum experience.

School Captains Speeches!

Primary 7 have spent a long time waiting for this opportunity. The time finally came for them to deliver their speeches to the school in the hope of becoming School Captain. The children enjoyed every moment of it and showed a great understanding of the democratic process they were involved in after undertaking their democracy topic at the start of term 1.

The Start of World War 2

We have started our IDL topic for this term. We are learning about the Second World War. So far we can identify the major figures of WW2, and can identify the allies of Britain and Germany , and which countries Hitler and the Nazi army annexed to give Germany more land in Europe. We created maps of allied and axis countries at the start of WW2 in 1939.

Welcome To P6/7

Welcome to P6/7’s blog. This year our teacher is Mr Young. We are really excited about this year and are looking forward to all the challenges it will bring. We have already decided that in our class we do not have a fixed mindset , we are a growth mindset class and cant wait to develop this.  Keep up with our learning journey through our blog, and watch us learn to do things that we can’t do YET.

P7 this week

P7 are continuing to work hard, we have started our new literacy block with a focus on media. We are using the film Diary of a Wimpy Kid to work from. Pupils are engaged in transferring their knowledge of literacy strategies to this movie format. This film is also about school transition and provides a good focus for discussion.

We are starting to work on our leavers assembly, we have a script, songs and pupils have volunteered for their parts. Watch this space.

Our week in a nutshell.

This week in p7 we have been practising for our summer show, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We have also been learning about area in maths, and we have also been learning about media studies through Diary of a Wimpy Kid. In P.E we have been walking a mile everyday.
