What a week!

P4 and P5 have had such a busy and exciting week! On Tuesday, we had our open afternoon, which we invited our friends and family to. We worked hard to come up with creative ways of sharing our learning from the term, and we set up stations around the hall. Lots of us baked for our cake and candy stall to raise money for Charlie House, and also we served tea, coffee, and Paddington shortbread to our visitors.

We were delighted to find that we raised £110 for Charlie House!

We were exhausted after all of our hard work at the open afternoon, but there wasn’t much time for a rest, because on Wednesday we had our trip!

We had a great day, first watching the Paddington movie at BHS, and then on for a nature walk and beach fun!

Marmalade Sandwiches

We were pleased to discover that our bread turned out really well!

We enjoyed slicing it and spreading some marmalade on for a taste. We agree with Paddington Bear, it was delicious!

Bread Making!

As part of our Paddington topic, we wanted to make some tasty marmalade sandwiches. We decided that the sandwiches would be even better if we made our own bread, so P4s and P5s had a fun and successful bread making session today!

We measured out our ingredients and mixed the dough using our hands. At first it felt sticky and gooey but after a while it started to get stretchy and soft. We then had a good workout for our fingers by kneading the dough for ten minutes! Tomorrow we will make marmalade sandwiches with our freshly baked bread.

A fun week!

P4 have had a great week of fun!

On Thursday we made a start on filming our video to demonstrate our learning on Children’s Rights.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

P4 are off to a great start.

In Health and Wellbeing we have started a theme on children’s rights. This week we were looking at human needs and deciding which needs are more important than others. We had a debate using persuasive language to argue our points.

We have also started our new topic on The Vikings. We have been learning about who the Vikings were and we have been working hard to create our own longship and Viking characters!

Children in Need!

We have had a great day today in our spotty gear to raise money for Children in Need! We had a brilliant assembly where we learned about the theme for this year’s Children in Need (superheroes), and we have been busy designing our very own Pudsey Bears, and writing Children in Need songs.

Term 1

Copy of P4 class

P4 have had a very busy and exciting first term. Our topic this term has been Minibeasts and Habitats. We have been investigating different types of minibeasts and learning about how and where they live. One of our learning activities was going on a Minibeast Safari to find out which minibeasts live around our school. Some of us were even brave enough to touch them!

In Health and Wellbeing we have been learning all about recycling. We designed our very own litter monster recycling bins to encourage people to recycle and not to litter. Then we collected recyclable materials and made models of our designs. Thank you to all parents and relatives who helped us with our junk collection!
