Children in Need

On Friday 14th November P6/7 and P7 hosted a Superhero themed Children in Need day with dressing up, cakes and treats, and lots of fun activities.   Take a look at our photographs from the day.

Photography Sessions

We decided we would like to learn about local wildlife and Miss Dooley got in touch with Rab, a local Countryside Ranger.  He came to the school and took groups from P3a and P3b to do some photography sessions.  Have a look at our photographs and see what you think …. say cheeeeese!

Annie’s Delicious Bakes

We wrote to Mrs Allsopp at Annie’s Delicious Bakes to ask her about the products she produces locally and the ingredients she uses.  We were lucky because Mrs Allsopp came to visit and she brought with us some delicious cake to try!  She also told us all about her products.

Glen Urr Ice Cream

Glen Urr Ice cream is made with the milk and cream produced from a herd of Ayrshire cows at Halmyre Farm, Haugh of Urr, Castle Douglas.  They also make a wide range of fruit sorbets which are made from fresh fruit when available.  We wrote to Mrs Davidson from Glen Urr Ice cream to ask her about how the products are produced locally and she kindly offered to come in, tell us about the ice creams and sorbets, and let us have a taste……delicious!

Hendersons the Butchers

Henderson the Butchers in Castle Douglas is a family run business and is run by Charley’s dad……Mr Henderson!  The meat in the shop comes from the family’s farm, which belongs to Charley’s Granddad……Mr Henderson! 🙂  Charley’s dad kindly sent us in some beef burgers and sausage rolls, that are locally produced, for us to taste……yummy!
